![]() The mule: a classic, from antiquity. Worn as a ceremonial shoe by Roman magistrates in the 1st century, it has been redefined by S&W in the 21st. Open-backed and constructed for comfort like the Stubbs and Wootton slipper, it comes in a variety of velvets, tapestries, jacquards, wools, linen, sisal and rafia, even a chenille. They are all trimmed in grosgrain or leather, and while the mules may come from ancient history, their new cousins are decidedly today. |
